Swift Transportation

SITUATION

Swift is a multi-faceted transportation services company that operates the largest fleet of truckload equipment in North America. The company operates through four segments: Truckload, Dedicated, Swift Refrigerated, and Intermodal. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona with 40 major terminals and 120 onsite locations positioned near major freight centers and traffic lanes in the United States and Mexico.

PROBLEM

Swift’s CIO approached FlexPrint with a problem. He needed to find a way to eliminate $2M/year expenses currently being paid to FedEx for ongoing priority mail coming from the truck drivers.

SOLUTION

We created and implemented a digital document workflow where truck drivers could scan and electronically send federally mandated documents to a central document management repository at the corporate headquarters. By implementing our single source/national coverage model, we were able to quickly support all of Swift’s national locations.

FlexPrint provided a national solution that augmented existing assets with workflow solution– decreased turnaround, eliminated shipping/scanning expenses, accommodated growth without extra investment.

OUTCOME

FlexPrint Saved Swift $2M+/Year with improved workflow, eased truckers workload with easier reporting. Litigation avoidance.
